Rule Book
These rules ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please read and understand them before participating.
These rules apply to all members at all times, regardless of rank or tenure. By joining Evolution RP, you agree to follow these guidelines and help build a positive and supportive community.
Clipping
You must have a working microphone and recording software (e.g., NVIDIA ShadowPlay, Medal TV, Radeon ReLive). Clips must be a minimum of 1 minute in duration to capture the full context of the situation. Failure to adhere to clipping rules may invalidate reports and lead to disciplinary action.
Age Requirement
All players must be 18 years or older to participate in the server. No exceptions.
Communication
Players must be able to speak and understand English to communicate effectively with other players and staff. Failure to meet communication requirements may result in a warning or temporary ban until resolved.
Accessibility
Players must have access to Discord, as it is the primary means of communication for server-related matters, including staff issues, applications, and event notifications. If you don't have Discord access, your participation in the server may be restricted until it is granted.
Inclusivity
All players must treat one another with respect, both in and out of roleplay. Any form of discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation will result in severe consequences, including a permanent ban. Targeted harassment or intentional disrespect will not be tolerated under any circumstances — zero tolerance policy.
Advertisements
Advertising anything unrelated to the community is strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban. This includes, but is not limited to, other servers, Discord communities, or personal websites. If you witness server poaching or unauthorized invite links, report them to staff immediately for investigation.
Inappropriate Names
Any in-game name deemed offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate will be changed immediately upon discovery, and the player may face disciplinary action.
Toxicity
Zero tolerance for toxic behavior. Any form of toxicity or attempts to incite toxicity on any platform (in-game, Discord, Twitch, etc.) will result in swift action, including temporary or permanent removal from the server. Toxic behavior includes excessive flaming, intentional trolling, and harassment of others.
Roleplay First, Victory Second
Roleplay scenarios should prioritize the experience and immersion of the story over "winning" the situation. If something does not go in your favor, accept the outcome and respect the roleplay. This encourages a more collaborative and enjoyable environment where players care more about the experience than simply winning.
Core rules governing in-game behavior and interactions. These ensure that every player maintains immersion and treats each scenario with the seriousness it deserves.
RDM (Random Deathmatching)
RDM is the act of killing or attempting to kill another player without any roleplay context or proper justification. You must have clear intent to roleplay any violent actions, and these actions must align with the situation or story you're creating. Example: Killing someone solely because you're "friends" with them or without in-character reasoning is strictly prohibited.
VDM (Vehicle Deathmatching)
VDM refers to using a vehicle to intentionally harm or kill another player and is strictly prohibited at all times. Intentionally ramming motorcycles with a vehicle is prohibited under any circumstances. Speeding (150+ mph) and intentionally ramming other vehicles is not allowed, even in high-intensity situations. Any act involving a vehicle must be fully roleplayed. Reckless driving that puts others in danger without roleplay context will be treated as VDM.
General Expectations
Every action must be properly roleplayed, and all violent interactions must have clear, in-character justification. Attacking players without a valid roleplay reason will result in punishment, as it disrupts the immersive experience. Characters who have not flown into the city for more than 45 days will be wiped to improve city performance.
Combat Logging
Combat logging occurs when a player intentionally disconnects (F8 quits) or forcefully crashes to avoid an ongoing roleplay scenario. Disconnecting mid-scene is strictly prohibited. This includes situations where you are involved in a police arrest or pursuit, being held up by criminals, in the middle of a gang shootout, or any situation where your exit would disrupt roleplay for others. If your game crashes, you are required to return to the scene immediately upon rejoining the server. Consistent or repeated combat logging will lead to severe consequences, up to a permanent ban.
Rules governing how conflict must be started. Proper initiation ensures all parties are aware of threats and have a chance to respond, maintaining fairness and immersion.
General Initiation
All conflict must be initiated verbally for 1 minute to ensure the other party is aware they are being threatened with harm. This includes situations where the player is about to be injured, killed, robbed, or kidnapped. You must verbally state your intent to harm or take action before proceeding. Players must have the opportunity to recognize the threat and respond.
Initiation Restrictions
Initiation can be done over Birdy, text messages, or Instapic as long as there is proof of the ongoing interaction (picture of birdy posts). You may initiate conflict over the phone via in-character calls. Certain in-game actions are automatically considered initiation: aiming a firearm or melee weapon directly at another player, or entering someone's vehicle or going through their trunk without consent (considered kidnapping or a threat/robbery).
EMS Interaction and Initiation
You cannot initiate conflict with someone who has just been revived by EMS. Players must roleplay their injuries after being revived and cannot be immediately targeted. Once EMS arrives on scene, they must wait for the scene to be completely over before performing any medical actions. Once EMS begins treating patients, the scene is considered over and all parties must disengage. You are never to shoot EMS unless they are reviving on scene after you have told them not to in an ongoing scene — must have a clip of a warning to EMS.
Powergaming occurs when a player uses out-of-character means or behaves unrealistically to gain an unfair advantage or disrupt the immersive experience. Powergaming actions will result in severe consequences, ranging from temporary bans to permanent removal.
Unrealistic Body Holding
It is considered powergaming to kidnap or hold a player's body for an unreasonable amount of time after a scene has concluded. Once a scene is over, the roleplay must end — holding a body unnecessarily or without proper roleplay is not allowed.
Green Zone Transactions
No player-to-player transactions (such as selling, trading, or robbing) are allowed in green zones (safe areas). These areas are intended to be free from conflict.
Avoiding Roleplay in Homes/Garages
You cannot enter a house or garage to avoid roleplay situations. If you're in an active scene (e.g., being robbed, arrested, etc.), using personal properties to avoid these situations is not allowed.
Waiting Outside Respawn Locations
You cannot wait outside of a location where you know individuals will spawn and immediately gun them down when they leave. You must apply interaction rules and they must know there is a threat. This applies to Paintball, player-owned homes, or crate drops.
Soul Transfer of Items/Information
Do not transfer items or information between different characters (souls) for any reason. This is strictly forbidden and will result in an automatic 1-month ban. Powergaming behavior involving character knowledge or items is not allowed.
Robbing After EMS Revives
You cannot rob a player immediately after they've been revived by EMS. Once EMS has arrived and revived someone, the scene is considered over, and you must leave the area to allow EMS to do their job.
Character Information Transfer
Do not transfer information from one character to another. No metagaming by bringing knowledge from one character to another is allowed. Each character must exist independently and not rely on knowledge obtained through out-of-character actions.
Non-Stop Robbing
Non-stop robbing of other players without offering sufficient roleplay or interaction is prohibited. Each robbery must have clear roleplay intent and context, not simply be an excuse to steal. Stealing pets or their collars is not allowed. You can NOT rob Katanas, Collectibles, Custom Guns, or PD equipment.
NVL refers to actions or behavior that demonstrate a lack of respect for your character's life or well-being. Players are expected to roleplay as if their character's life has value and to avoid reckless or irrational behavior.
Engaging in Dangerous Behavior
Putting your character in extreme danger without any in-character reason (e.g., running into gunfire, jumping into a vehicle chase, or refusing to comply with a serious threat) is considered NVL. Your character should avoid behavior that would naturally result in harm, injury, or death.
Ignoring Life-Threatening Situations
Ignoring threats to your life, such as refusing to comply with a clear demand, continuing to act recklessly when being threatened with death, or making no effort to avoid being killed or arrested, demonstrates a lack of value for your character's life.
Lack of Fear in Hostage Situations
If your character is taken hostage or threatened with death, they must roleplay fear and act accordingly. If a hostage refuses to fear for their life or attempts to escape in an unrealistic manner, it is considered NVL. You may not take a member of your own gang as a hostage under any circumstances — a hostage must be someone your character would realistically be willing to harm or use as leverage.
Lack of Fear Against PD
Criminals and gang members should always assume they are outnumbered and avoid getting in shootouts with PD at all costs. Shooting at cops should be a last resort and not something to take lightly.
Robbery and Violence
When threatened or robbed, your character must roleplay the situation realistically. This means complying with robbers or aggressors if the situation calls for it, not retaliating in a way that disregards the power dynamic (e.g., fighting back when outnumbered or outgunned), and avoiding unrealistic escape attempts without proper in-character reasoning or resources.
Death and Injury
If a player is clearly injured or incapacitated (e.g., after being shot, knocked out, or otherwise harmed), they must roleplay appropriately. They should not continue to act unaffected or perform actions they would normally be unable to do (e.g., running or fighting after a life-threatening injury). When someone's life is threatened, they must respond realistically.
Rules governing the protection and responsibilities of whitelisted workers performing their duties.
Protection of Whitelisted Workers
Whitelisted workers performing their duties at a whitelisted business/job may not be taken hostage or harmed while on duty, except in situations where they have provoked the aggression.
Exceptions to Protection
Whitelisted workers lose their protected status if they: wear gang identifiers, engage in hostile behavior such as taunting or threatening others, or brandish or use weapons in a manner that invites confrontation.
OOC communication refers to conversations or messages that occur outside the roleplay scenario. OOC communication is prohibited in the city to maintain immersion.
General Rule
Do not speak OOC at any point in the city or during active roleplay unless it is absolutely necessary for resolving an issue, such as in a staff sit or a private, designated OOC channel. Players must keep all interactions in-character to preserve the integrity of the roleplay.
Exceptions
OOC communication is permitted during staff sits where a staff member is involved and OOC clarification is needed to resolve a specific issue. You may use private OOC channels such as Discord or private messages for out-of-character discussions, but they should not interfere with the in-character roleplay.
Exploiting refers to abusing game mechanics or GTA mechanics in a way that gives an unfair advantage in roleplay or disrupts the server's intended experience. This undermines the integrity of roleplay and significantly affects immersion.
Game/Server Mechanic Exploiting
Using bugs, glitches, or unintended mechanics to gain an advantage in any aspect of the game (e.g., duplicating items, bypassing scripted events, or taking advantage of unintended interactions within the game) is strictly prohibited.
Emote Exploiting
Using emotes in an unintended way to exploit or manipulate mechanics. This includes /reloadskin or similar commands used to reset your character without an in-character reason, and emote canceling where you cancel an emote animation to avoid getting shot, taking damage, or disrupting a scene.
Combat Exploiting
Tackling during combat is prohibited, as it's an exploitative mechanic that can unfairly disrupt combat and roleplay flow.
The New Life Rule ensures that players start fresh after certain events, preserving the integrity of roleplay and preventing continuous cycles of conflict.
Re-Gearing and Conflict Resolution
After a conflict or loss, both parties must wait 30 minutes before they can engage in another fight with each other. This timer begins after the losing party receives medical treatment or is revived, and it applies to both physical and mental recovery. During this 30-minute wait, you may not re-engage in combat or revenge killings.
Ocean Dumping and Respawning
If a character sees the light, they will forget the immediate events leading up to their death for the last 30 minutes. Any conflict, betrayal, or important in-character details leading up to the death are forgotten. If the character does not see the light and/or EMS has picked them up, they may remember the events but are still bound by NLR and cannot re-engage immediately.
Respawning Rules
You may not respawn if you are currently in an ongoing scenario or if EMS or Police are en route. If you've been advised that the authorities (/911) or EMS (/311) are on the way to the scene, you must remain in character and allow the roleplay to proceed.
Incapacitation and Medical Help
If you are incapacitated (e.g., knocked out or seriously injured), you must attempt to contact medical help (e.g., calling EMS or asking for assistance) while you are down. This ensures that the roleplay remains grounded in reality.
Long Scenarios
If you feel that a scenario is taking too long or becoming unrealistic, create a ticket in the server's Discord to bring it to staff's attention. Staff will make a judgment call and determine whether the scene should continue or be adjusted.
Consequences
Violating the NLR may result in a temporary ban, suspension, or removal from the scene depending on the severity and the impact on other players' roleplay. Repeated offenses could lead to more severe penalties.
Scamming is allowed within specific boundaries to maintain fair and engaging roleplay.
Scamming Rules
Scammers must engage in at least 1 minute of face-to-face interaction. The maximum scamming limit is $100,000. Whitelisted business workers are prohibited from conducting scams while on duty. Only scammable items from the VIP shop are guns. No scamming is allowed in a Green Zone.
To ensure that the community remains respectful, safe, and fun for everyone, the following types of roleplay are strictly prohibited. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for these actions.
Vigilante RP and Hitman RP
Vigilante roleplay (acting as a lone hero) and hitman roleplay (assassinations for personal gain) are not allowed. You are not allowed to roleplay as characters like Spider-Man, John Wick, Jason Bourne, or Daredevil. All actions should fit within the established roleplay narrative.
Sexual Assault Roleplay
Roleplaying sexual assault, including non-consensual touching, rape, or similar acts, is strictly prohibited. This includes both in-character roleplay and any out-of-character discussions or jokes about sexual harassment. Any violation will result in an immediate permanent ban with no ban appeals considered. Zero-tolerance policy.
Suicide Roleplay
Suicide RP is strictly forbidden. Roleplaying scenarios involving suicide or any form of self-harm are not permitted in any way. We aim to maintain a supportive environment for all players.
Erotic Roleplay (ERP)
ERP is only allowed in private or closed areas, not in public spaces. If you attempt to perform ERP in public, including using in-game items like Viagra or engaging in any explicit activity in a visible area, it is considered inappropriate and a violation of the server's Terms of Service. Being clipped engaging in ERP in public will result in immediate consequences including a ban.
Cheating or using any form of external assistance to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited on this server.
Duplication (Duping)
The use of any method to duplicate items, vehicles, or currency in-game is strictly prohibited.
Aim Bots
Software that automatically aims for you, giving you an unfair advantage in combat, is strictly prohibited.
ESP (Extra Sensory Perception)
Using software to gain information about other players' positions, health, or other hidden data is not allowed.
Modified Files
You cannot modify your game files or use external software for an unfair advantage over other civilians. This includes No Props, Cheating, Macros, and Ped Glow.
Meta gaming refers to using out-of-character (OOC) or external information to influence in-game decisions or actions. Any information gained outside of roleplay cannot be used to influence your in-game actions.
Stream Sniping
Watching someone's live stream to gain an advantage in the game, such as knowing their location or plans, is strictly prohibited.
Third-Party VOIP Applications
Using external voice chat programs like Discord or others to communicate or gather information during roleplay is prohibited. This includes coordinating outside of the game with other players to get an advantage.
Forbidden Actions
Any information gained outside of roleplay (whether OOC, from streamers, or third-party apps) cannot be used to influence your in-game actions or decisions.
Real Money Trading is strictly prohibited. This refers to any form of transaction where real-world currency is exchanged for in-game items, currency, or services.
Prohibited Activities
Examples of prohibited RMT activities include: Paying a player real-world money (e.g., $100) for in-game items, vehicles, currency, or any other in-game benefit. Any exchange of in-game assets for real-world money or items, whether it occurs within or outside of the game environment.
To maintain continuity and avoid disruptions in roleplay during server restarts, the following guidelines apply.
Roleplay Continuity
Roleplay should not be interrupted or become less serious before or during a server restart. All scenes should proceed as normal, and players should maintain their immersion.
Criminal Roleplay
Do not initiate any criminal roleplay (e.g., robberies, crimes, etc.) within 30 minutes before or after a server restart. This ensures that ongoing roleplay scenarios are not cut short or disrupted.
Arrests and Processing
If an individual is arrested and in the process of being transported or processed when a server restart occurs, they are required to return to the police station or turn themselves in upon logging back in to continue the roleplay.
Suspicious Handoffs
You are allowed to conduct suspicious handoffs (e.g., transferring goods, weapons, or items in a criminal context) up to 15 minutes before and after a storm or server restart.
Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging roleplay environment. We do not tolerate certain topics being brought into the city or Discord that can disrupt the atmosphere.
Roleplay Boundaries
While we encourage creativity and diverse storylines, certain sensitive or inappropriate topics should not be brought into roleplay. This includes discussions or roleplaying related to politics, religion, or other controversial subjects that could cause conflict, and explicit or inappropriate topics that could make other players uncomfortable.
Keeping It In RP — Bodycam
You can only RP out having a Bodycam if you are wearing a Body Cam which can be found in the clothing. Using terms such as "I have it on Body cam" in RP without you actually wearing one can lead to Fail RP punishments.
LQRP refers to actions that detract from the realism or enjoyment of the roleplay experience for others. The following examples are considered LQRP and will be addressed accordingly.
Ignoring /me Commands
Failing to respond to /me commands (e.g., /me takes off mask or /me steals shoes) is considered LQRP.
Repetitive Scenario Locations
Using the same location for shootouts repeatedly within a short time frame is not allowed.
Unrealistic Injury Response
Speaking normally after being shot without showing any signs of pain is considered LQRP.
Neglecting Proper RP Build-Up
Robbing players without sufficient roleplay context or a valid reason is LQRP.
Vehicle Dumping
Discarding vehicles in water without a justified roleplay reason is not allowed.
Cop-Baiting
Provoking police intentionally without valid RP, such as causing collisions to start a chase or bringing cops back to your block for an ambush during a chase.
Breaking Scenario Immersion
Intervening in scenes unnecessarily or performing unrealistic stunts without proper RP context. Keep scenes concise and focused; avoid unnecessary extensions when the resolution is clear. No dragging out scenes to be petty.
Immediately Fleeing Traffic Stops
When Police conduct a traffic stop, you must adhere to it if the traffic stop was the start of the interaction. You can only flee after the minimum interaction time has reached 1 minute 30 seconds or you are at risk of being arrested.
Shooting Police Without Reason
Players must have valid and appropriate reasons when initiating violence against police officers and should only resort to shooting as a last resort after proper RP interaction.
Rules governing criminal roleplay scenarios. These ensure balance, fairness, and immersive criminal storylines.
Rule of 8 and 5
Maximum of 8 players can be involved in a criminal scenario at one time. You are not allowed to involve other parties or players in any way. Heists and chases follow the Rule of 5 — max 5 players involved. This applies to all criminal scenarios: drug activities, police shootouts, civilian illegal interactions, robberies, and gang activities. Police are allowed to respond with appropriate numbers as set out in their SOPs. Overcrowded scenes are a violation and may result in a ban.
Targeting of Emergency Services
Directly targeting or harming Emergency Services personnel (EMS or Police) without a valid in-character reason is strictly prohibited. Emergency Services are integral to roleplay scenarios. Valid reasons for interaction must always be roleplayed out with clear narrative and logical reasoning. Stealing emergency vehicles without real roleplay purposes is strictly prohibited.
Camping Locations
Intentionally waiting in or around high-traffic areas to rob or ambush players is not allowed. This includes illicit areas (drug spots, black markets), job areas and garages, and police camping near drug spots solely to bust individuals. While police are welcome to enforce the law, camping in such areas just to catch players undermines both criminal and law enforcement roleplay.
No Cop-Baiting
Cop-baiting refers to purposely provoking police or drawing unnecessary attention. This includes running back to your compound during a chase to ambush police, performing reckless driving to provoke traffic stops, committing violations near officers to get attention, and purposefully engaging in illegal activities just to bait a chase. Gangs must fear cops and only shoot as an absolute last resort. For police chases, you must have at least a 7-minute chase and your car must be immobile before you can shoot. Government workers (cops and EMS) should be feared and treated as you would in real life.
Cooldown Rule
Heists: Players must wait 30 minutes between heist activities. Timer begins after successfully evading police or once you are sent to prison. Gang-Related and Conflict Scenes: A 30-minute cooldown applies between gang-related scenes or conflicts. The timer begins once the first individual from the opposing side has received medical treatment.
Green zones are designated safe areas where players are protected from hostile actions. Designated Green Zones: Medical Center, Alta Street Apartments, Casino, and PD.
No Altercations in Green Zones
Green zones are safe areas where players cannot engage in hostile actions such as fighting, robbing, or shooting. Any form of initiation, including verbal threats, is prohibited within these areas.
Police Enforcement
Green zones do not provide protection from law enforcement. If you have an active warrant or commit a crime, police can still pursue, detain, and arrest you in a green zone.
No Escaping into Green Zones
You cannot run into a green zone mid-scene to escape conflict, avoid arrest, or reset engagement. Running into a house or safe area to avoid roleplay consequences is considered fail RP and will result in immediate consequences. If you are causing continuous altercations and starting a scene, the opposing party can retaliate.
Allowed Activities
Roleplay within green zones should be passive (e.g., socializing, conducting legal transactions, or seeking assistance).
Prohibited Activities
The following are prohibited in green zones: Wielding weapons (for any reason), committing any kind of crime, selling drugs, robbing/killing/cuffing (non-police) someone, luring people out of GZ to rob/kill, conducting deals with another player, loitering around green zones to rob exiting players, and using safe zones to escape player interaction.
Rules governing interactions between civilians and gang members. Being in a gang can be frustrating at times — if you cannot handle Gang RP or taking L's, these rules are especially important.
Civilian Females
No shooting or acting weird towards civilian females without a VALID reason. You can trash-talk females in gangs but you cannot make weird suggestive comments or slut shame.
Civilians
Don't kill or rob civilians unless provoked. You can ONLY rob civs who shoot at you first or you catch doing criminal activity such as selling drugs.
Crew Members
Crew Members are to be treated as civs and are not to be pressed unless they start a negative interaction first.
Families
Families are to be treated as civs and are not to be pressed unless they start a negative interaction first.
Adherence to these rules ensures a fun, immersive, and fair roleplay environment for everyone in the community.
Enforcement
Violations will be addressed promptly, with penalties ranging from warnings to permanent bans based on severity. Punishments may vary depending on severity and are up to staff discretion, including potential comms or a ban.
Community
Let's work together to make our city a great community for everyone. Join our Discord at discord.gg/aSNXU8S5 for all server-related communication, support tickets, and community interaction.
